Rev. Allen C. Hoger
Reverend Allen Hoger teaches Bible, Omnibus and Greek in the Upper School at CSW. He joined the CSW staff in 2007, where he served as the head of the Latin department for a number of years.
Pastor Hoger completed a degree at St. John’s College in Winfield, Kansas (1972), and received his Bachelor of Arts from Concordia Senior College in Ft. Wayne, Indiana (1974). Additionally, he holds two masters degrees: a Master of Divinity from Christ Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri (1978) and a Master of Sacred Theology from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri (2003).
Pastor Hoger served as the a full-time parish pastor in the Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod from 1979-2014, and he has been active in community service for more than 25 years, including YMCA board positions in both Wichita and Joliet, Illinois and for the Good Samaritan Center in Atwood, Kansas. Furthermore, he has editorial experience through publication in Journal of English District Pastors, Bulletin of the Plumstead Episcopate and Marriage Services Subcommittee, LCMS Commission on Worship.
Rev. Hoger and his wife, Sue, are the parents of two children and three grandchildren.
A bicycling enthusiast, Rev. Hoger enjoys cross-country riding, bicycle repair and even bicycle building. He also enjoys some of the finer things in life such as Victorian poetry, Realist and Impressionist art and classical music.
