Mr. Ian Snyder

Mr. Ian Snyder is in his first year at CSW. He teaches Upper School Art, Pre-Algebra and Latin II. Prior to joining the CSW family, Mr. Snyder lived in New York City.

Mr. Snyder served as a Rifleman in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2005-2009, He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with an emphasis in 2-D Art from Hunter College in 2015. During his six years in NYC, he also worked as a security guard and a carpenter.

In his spare time and in his classroom, Mr. Snyder finds joy in drawing, painting and sculpting. He is currently teaching Upper School art students to create charcoal drawings, as charcoal is his preferred drawing tool. He is excited to begin his first year of teaching at CSW, to further his own education and to build relationships with his students and colleagues.

“Someone once told me that you learn the most when you’re teaching,” he said. “I think that’s true. Secondly, community is essential. To know yourself and to be known is a desire we all have. Teaching puts me in a community where I can guide others towards the fulfillment of that desire with the acknowledgement that only God can complete it.”
