Mrs. Michelle Young
Mrs. Michelle Young is in her third year at CSW, where she teaches Fifth Grade. Prior to joining the CSW family, she worked for Circle School District.
Mrs. Young grew up in New Jersey and attended Messiah College where she received her Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in writing. She spent most of her early career working in public relations and development, as an advertising account executive and then as Development Director at HopeNet. However, Mrs. Young left the non-profit world behind to stay home with her children. In 2009, she decided to make a career change and took a position with the Circle School District. Over the years, she had several friends share about the wonderful, Christ-centered education the classical school model was providing for their own children, and she was thrilled when God opened the doors for her to teach at CSW.
Mrs. Young and her husband, Bill, have two sons — Brennan and Colin — who both attend CSW, and one dog, Barkley, who does not. The family, minus Barkley, attends Journey the Way, where they serve in the children’s ministry and the youth group.
In her spare time, Mrs. Young enjoys reading, writing, knitting and traveling back to the east coast to spend her days “down the shore.” She is inspired by creativity, and loves building relationships with her students.
“I enjoy engaging my students in conversation during the course of our studies,” she said. “I love their curiosity, and am always astounded by the depth of some of their questions.”
