“B-Team” Basketball & K-12 Education

What a night! Anyone who was in attendance at the Junior High Boys “B-Team”basketball game last night will attest that they have experienced very few games as exciting as the “B-Team’s” double-overtime victory over WACA.

Though there were two other great games that evening, the buzz all night, and even today, was over the “B-Team” basketball game. The referee officiating the game said that he had never seen a crowd so excited about a Junior High “B-Team” game. Later that evening the boys’ coach, Aaron Sinclair, commented on social media, “In all my years of coaching, I have never heard a more loud and supportive crowd at the middle school level, especially from the students. That was great school pride exhibited!” The students in the crowd were so excited that they rushed the court at the final buzzer in celebration of the victory.

I don’t mean to belabor the “B-Team” status. What I intend to highlight is that CSW has a uniquely supportive community. Of course, that is easy to say, and I’m sure all schools say that, but last night was real-time evidence of this fact. What an incredible place to be where students from Kindergarten through 12th grade can rally around a group of 5th-7th grade, “B-Team” basketball players to make them feel like they had just won the Final Four.

As for me, I am honored to serve at such an amazing place as CSW, and I am excited that my own children will get to be part of a culture like this one.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Blessings to you and yours in Christ Jesus!
