Mrs. Kris Darrah
Mrs. Kris Darrah teaches Upper School Grammar/Composition classes at CSW. Mrs. Darrah earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with middle-level certification in English from Tabor College in 1992. She then taught sixth grade in the Maize school district for four years before making the transition to stay-at-home mom. After ten years at home with her children, she joined CSW as a sixth grade teacher. She taught sixth grade for eight years before moving to Upper School Grammar/Composition classes.
Mrs. Darrah and her husband, Mike, have four children — Lexi, Cassidy, Macey and David — and a pug named Lola. Their church home is Journey the Way.
Mrs. Darrah enjoys interacting with middle school students because she loves watching them figure out who they are as they transition from children to young adults. She loves helping her students harness their spunk and insight, channeling it in a positive and God-honoring direction.
“I am inspired by a verse that I love, Galatians 5:6: ‘The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love,’” she says. “The most important thing to me is my faith in Christ, and I want to express my gratitude for what Christ has done for me by showing love to others.”
